Elizabethtown Council approves traffic safety improvements at High and Mount Joy

PA ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown Borough Council approves traffic safety improvements at High and Mount Joy. Council unanimously approved directing staff to draft an ordinance implementing traffic safety measures at the intersection, including parking removal between South Mount Joy Street and Lake Alley. Assistant Borough Manager Pamela Roberts discussed the improvements following a TPD traffic study.
Larger stop signs have been installed, with high-visibility crosswalks planned for warmer weather installation. Council also unanimously approved payment requests for infrastructure projects, extended the Railroad Ridge Land Development Plan review period to June 18, 2026, approved a five-year GEARS funding agreement with a CPI modification, approved Resolution 2026-03 supporting the U.S. Semiquincentennial, and approved sale of surplus equipment totaling $8,870.
